Braves/Dodgers Eliminated, Tennessee Beat Alabama, Goalposts In River, Michigan Crushes Penn State, Eagles Undefeated

Big surprises in the postseason. The Philadelphia Phillies eliminated the defending World Series champs, the Atlanta Braves, and the San Diego Padres beat the heavily favored LA Dodgers. Click here for more playoff news.

The college football world was rocked this weekend when Tennessee ended its 15-year losing streak to Alabama. Thanks to a game-winning field goal, the Volunteers won 52-49. After the game, the SEC fined Tennessee $100K for excessive celebration (including throwing the goalposts into the Tennessee River). University President Randy Boyd was unapologetic about the fine stating on Twitter,  “It doesn’t matter. We can do this every year.”

The University of Michigan also made a statement on Saturday by crushing Penn State 41-17.

In the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles remain undefeated after beating the Dallas Cowboys 26-17. For more NFL news, click here.
