MLDS Begins, Kyrie Refuses Vaccination, Greenberg To Host “NBA Countdown”, NWSL Resumes Play

BASEBALL

In the Wild Card matchups, the Boston Red Sox advance to the Division Series after beating the NY Yankees 6-2. The Los Angeles Dodgers also advance, thanks to Chris Taylor’s two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth against  the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Major League Division Series begins Thursday night. The Houston Astros will host the Chicago White Sox,  Later in the evening, the Boston Red Sox will take on the Tampa Bay Rays.

On Friday, the Dodgers will face their rivals, the San Francisco Giants, and the Milwaukee Brewers will play the Atlanta Braves.

BASKETBALL

The New Jersey Nets Kyrie Irving still refuses to get vaccinated, which means he might not be able to participate in home games and practices.

ESPN reported that Mike Greenberg will replace Maria Taylor as the host of “NBA Countdown.”

SOCCER

The National Women’s Soccer League resumed games on Wednesday after pausing play over the weekend due to reports of emotional and sexual abuse from a now-former league coach. For more on this story, click here.
