BASKETBALL

After months of speculation about where free agent James Harden would land, the Philadelphia 76ers announced they are trading Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers for a combination of first-round, and second-round picks.

In other NBA news, the season has only just begun, but there is already controversy over the Player Participation Policy which says a player only qualifies for major awards if he plays 65 games (out of an 82-game schedule). Fans were upset when they would pay to attend a game and their favorite players decided to take the night off to rest up. This was an issue for National TV broadcasts as well.

Big stars have already started missing games in seeming protest against the new rules. It will be interesting to see how this plays out for the rest of the season.
