Barnes Traded While On Court, Shumpert Joins Harden, Durant Tells Media To “Grow Up”

Trade deadline madness continues until 3:00 pm on Thursday. Here’s the latest:

Harrison Barnes was on the court playing for the Dallas Mavericks when he heard he was traded to the Sacramento Kings.  It was an awkward moment, and even LeBron James weighed in on social media saying, “So let me guess this is cool cause they had to do what was best for the franchise right??? Traded this man while he was literally playing in the game and had ZERO idea. I’m not knocking who traded him because it’s a business and you have to do what you feel what’s best but I just want this narrative to start to get REAL/CHANGE and not when a player wants to be traded or leaves a Franchise that he’s a selfish/ungrateful player but when they trade you, release , waive, cut etc etc it’s best for them! I’m ok with both honestly, truly am. Just call a ♠️ a ♠️!!”

In more trade news, the Houston Rockets’ James Harden tweeted his enthusiasm for the team acquiring Iman Shumpert in a three-way deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Sacramento Kings. Harden said, “Shump is a vet who can help us — defensively, ballhandling, shooting,”

Golden State’s Kevin Durant expressed his frustration with the media’s obsession over all the trade hype, and the rumor he’s heading to the New York Knicks this summer. Durant did not hold back saying, “Ya’ll come in here every day, ask me about free agency — ask my teammates, my coaches, you rile up the fans about it. Let us play basketball, that’s all I’m saying. And now that I don’t want to talk to ya’ll it’s a problem with me. Come on man, grow up. Grow up.”

76ers Want Harrison Barnes, Athletes Invited To RNC

The free agent sweepstakes (which officially begins Friday) are heating up. It’s been reported the Philadelphia 76ers will push hard to get the Warriors’ Harrison Barnes. The Warriors can match any offer Barnes gets from other teams but the Warriors seem focused on grabbing the big prize, Kevin Durant from OKC. The Warriors also want to keep their Center Festus Ezeli but again that all depends on what happens with Kevin Durant.

Donald Trump 2It’s been reported the Republican National Convention will be loaded with sports celebrities. According to the presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, Mike Tyson, Mike Ditka, Nascar’s Brian France, and Bobby Knight will be present. Trump also invited quarterbacks Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger but it’s unclear if they will be in attendance or if any of the athletes invited will be speaking.
