Dodgers Take 13 Innings To Tie Series, Red Sox Up 2-1, Warriors Unveil Banner And Rings

BASEBALL

It took 5 hours and 15 minutes and a much more enthusiastic crowd for the LA Dodgers to even the series with the Milwaukee Brewers at two games apiece. In the 13th inning, the Dodgers’ Cody Bellinger hit an RBI single allowing Manny Machado to score and end the game. Dodgers’ Enrique Hernandez took some heat after Monday’s loss to the Brewers for saying the crowd was unenthusiastic. Before last night’s game, he joked on Twitter, “The truth is, I suffer from ED,” then added, “So tonight, let’s all bring it. We can conquer Energy Deficiency together.” The Dodgers will head back to Milwaukee for Game 5 Wednesday night.

In the ALCS, the Red Sox hold a 2-1 advantage over the Houston Astros with Game 4 Wednesday night.

ESPY Awards, Sister Survivors, Machado To Dodgers

MISC

Danica Patrick hosted the annual ESPY awards show on Wednesday night. The ESPY’s highlight excellence in all sports, with the Best Male Athlete going to Alex Ovechkin and Best Female Athlete to snowboarder Chl0e Kim. There were awards for best athlete per sport as well with (no surprise) Tom Brady winning for football, LeBron James for basketball and Mike Trout for baseball. At the conclusion of the evening, 141 survivors (called the Sister survivors) of former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse came on stage to accept the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Three of the survivors spoke about the courage it took for all of them to come forward and to end the years of suffering. Former Olympic Gold medalist Aly Raisman powerfully said, “1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016. These were the years we spoke up about Larry Nassar’s abuse. All those years we were told, ‘You are wrong. You misunderstood. He’s a doctor. It’s OK. Don’t worry, we’ve got it covered. Be careful. There are risks involved.’ The intention: to silence us in favor of money, medals and reputation.” She added, “to all the survivors out there, don’t let anyone rewrite your story. We may suffer alone, but we survive together.” For all awards, click here.
