19-Yr Old Alcaraz Wins Open, Swiatek Wins Women’s Final, Ravens/Jackson Can’t Agree

TENNIS

Nineteen-year-old Carlos Alcaraz won the U.S. Open men’s final, his first Grand Slam championship. Alcaraz, who is now number 1 in the world, is the youngest Open men’s champion since Pete Sampras in 1990.

In the women’s final, Poland’s Iga Swiatek (the #1 seed) defeated Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur for her third major championship and first U.S. Open title.
