University of Michigan coach Juwan Howard declined an “expected” offer to interview for the LA Lakers head coaching position. He has elected to stay at Michigan to coach his two sons, Jace (junior) and Jett (freshman).
FOOTBALL
Alabama coach Nick Saban and Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher have been trading barbs after Saban publicly accused Fisher of “buying” every player in his #1 ranked 2022 recruiting class. Fisher fought back saying it’s insulting to the players to assume they chose A&M because of NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) rules. Fisher also criticized his former boss (Saban) saying, “Some people think they’re God. Go dig into how ‘God’ did his deal, you may find out about a lot of things that you don’t want to know.”
