NFL Playoff Pic Set, Raiders Win Means Chargers Out, Fired Coaches, Djokovic Will Play In Open

FOOTBALL

After a wild weekend in the NFL, the playoff picture is set. For the schedule of games, click here.

One of the most exciting matchups was the crazy close game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers. There was a scenario where if the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars both won on Sunday, then the Chargers and Raiders would BOTH make the playoffs if they ended their game in a tie. And, that almost happened, but with 2 seconds left in overtime, the Raiders kicked a field goal to win the game and head to the playoffs (without the Chargers).

Now that the regular season is over, look out for some coaching changes. The Denver Broncos got things started Sunday morning by firing Vic Fangio. The Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, and Minnesota Vikings all followed suit and fired their head coaches (Brian Flores, Matt Nagy, and Mike Zimmer respectively).

TENNIS

The Novak Djokovic vaccination/visa cancellation drama appears to be resolved.  It’s been reported he will be allowed to stay in Australia and compete in the Australian Open. If Djokovic wins the Open, he will have broken the record for men’s Grand Slam titles.
