BASKETBALL

The NBA is back. As of Tuesday night, the regular season began and there’s already been some drama. The Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons was kicked out of practice and will receive a one-game suspension (missing the season opener against the New Orleans Pelicans) for “conduct detrimental to the team.” Teammate Joel Embiid expressed his frustration saying, “I’m not here to babysit.” And, went on to say, “At this point, I don’t care about that man, honestly. He does whatever he wants. That’s not my job. … I’m only focused on trying to make the team better, win some games, play hard every night and try to lead the guys that we have here.”

In more NBA news, the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics started the season with an exciting double-overtime game with three 30-point scorers. Knicks 138, Celtics 134 (2OT)

BASEBALL

The Houston Astros leads the ALCS series 3-2 against the Boston Red Sox.  A fan is getting a lot of attention this morning after grabbing, with one hand, a shattered bat that flew into the stands preventing anyone from getting hurt. Game 6 is Friday.

In the NLCS, the Atlanta Braves have a 3-1 lead over the LA Dodgers. Game 5 is Saturday
