18 Former NBA Players Defrauding Scheme, Alabama Falls, Most FG’s Missed, Cardinals Undefeated

Eighteen former NBA players have been accused of defrauding the League’s Health and Wellness benefits plan. The alleged $4 million scheme was led by former New Jersey Net player Terrence Williams who submitted a false claim for $19k in chiropractic work and was reimbursed $8k.

The biggest upset of the weekend was Alabama falling to an unranked Texas A&M 41-38 for its first loss since 2019.

In the NFL, the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals set a record for the most field goals (5) missed late in a game since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. Veteran kicker Mason Crosby finally gave the Packers an overtime win (25-22) with his final field goal.

One of the best games of the weekend featured the Los Angeles Chargers in a high-scoring shootout barely defeating the Cleveland Browns 47-42.

And, the Arizona Cardinals are still the only undefeated team this season after an unexciting 17-10 win over the SF 49ers.
