Oregon Upset Ohio State, Cat Saved At Miami Game, Winston, Murray Big Games, Djokovic Run Ends, Raducanu’s Historic Run

FOOTBALL

It didn’t take long for there to be a shakeup in the College Football Playoffs. On Saturday, #12 Oregon upset heavily favored #3 Ohio State 35-28.  With the win, Oregon jumped to #4 while Ohio State fell to #9.

One of the best highlights of the college football weekend was seeing University of Miami fans save a cat dangling from the rafters, then parading the cat around like Mufasa and Simba in Lion King.

In the first weekend of NFL football, Jameis Winston threw for five touchdowns to lead the New Orleans Saints to a very lopsided victory over the Green Bay Packers, whose quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for two interceptions and recorded one of the worst games of his career.

In another route, the Arizona Cardinals, thanks to quarterback Kyler Murray who scored five touchdowns and stellar defense from Chandler Jones (who had a career-high five sacks), overran the Tennesse Titans 38-13.

Monday Night Football will feature the Baltimore Ravens vs the Las Vegas Raiders.

TENNIS

Novak Djokovic’s bid for a historic 21st major title and Grand Slam ended on Sunday when Daniil Medvedev beat him in the U.S. Open men’s final. The win gives the #2 ranked player in the world, Medvedev, his first Grand Slam title.

In the women’s final, 18-year-old Emma Raducanu continued her exciting journey by beating Leylah Fernandez to win her first Grand Slam title. Raducanu came into the tournament as a qualifier and didn’t drop a set during her historic run.
