Big Ten Changes Policy, Ohio State To Play Northwestern in Championship Game, Jordan’s Golf Course Delivers Snacks By Drone

FOOTBALL

The Big Ten conference agreed to change its policy that teams need to play six games to be eligible for the conference championship. Undefeated #4 Ohio State will now face Northwestern on December 19th in the Big Ten Football Championship game. The Big Ten statement reads: “The decision was based on a competitive analysis which determined that Ohio State would have advanced to the Big Ten Football Championship Game based on its undefeated record and head-to-head victory over Indiana regardless of a win or loss against Michigan.”

GOLF

Michael Jordan’s new golf club in Florida called the Grove XXIII delivers food and drinks to the course by drone. This is really cool…take a look.

Ohio State Vs Michigan Cancelled For First Time Since WWI, Ramifications For Playoffs, Hurts Replaces Wentz, Ravens Beat Cowboys

FOOTBALL

The big news out of the college football world is the cancellation of the annual rivalry game between #4 Ohio State and Michigan due to COVID-19 infections. Not only will this be the first time since World War 1 that these two rivals won’t be meeting, but the cancellation has big ramifications for the post-season. There is a six-game threshold to qualify for the December 19th Big 10 championship game and at 5-0, Ohio State would have been primed to win and get a fighting chance with the College Football Playoff selection committee. The Big 10 Conference Committee will meet today to discuss changing the requirements.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced they will replace quarterback Carson Wentz with rookie Jalen Hurts in their upcoming matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

The Baltimore Ravens handily beat the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday night 34-17 thanks in large part to the return of quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Steelers Finally Lose, Alex Smith Inspirational, Bills Beat 49ers, Obama’s Bball Jersey Breaks Record

FOOTBALL

Dolphin fans celebrated last night watching the Washington Football Team beat the previously undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers. The 1972 Dolphins continue to remain the only team in the NFL to have a perfect season. For Washington, quarterback Alex Smith continues to inspire with a 23-17 win.

In the second game on Monday night, the Buffalo Bills beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-24 thanks to Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen who completed 32 of 40 passes for 375 yards and four touchdowns.

BASKETBALL

Former President Barack Obama’s basketball jersey from his 1978 season at Hawaii’s Punahou School sold for $192,00 breaking the record for the most expensive high school basketball jersey sold at auction. The previous record was $187,500 for LeBron James’ jersey worn on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 2002.

Jets Lose On Hail Mary, Saints/Chiefs Clinch Playoffs, Rodgers Throws For 400 TD’s In Record Time, Patriots Back, Mayweather Jr. To Fight YouTube Star Logan Paul

FOOTBALL

New York Jets fans can’t seem to get a break (or maybe they can if they’re hoping for a winless season to guarantee the first pick in the draft…most likely quarterback Trevor Lawrence). On Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Jets were ahead with just seconds left on the clock when Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr threw a 46-yard Hail Mary to Henry Ruggs to pull out a 31-28 upset.

In other NFL news, the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs clinched playoff berths. Green Bay Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw his 400th touchdown in record time. He reached this milestone 12 games faster than the previous six quarterbacks who recorded 400 plus touchdowns. Finally, the New England Patriots are starting to look dominant again with a 45-0 rout of the Los Angeles Chargers. BOXING

Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced he’s coming out of retirement to fight YouTube star Logan Paul in an exhibition on February 20th. At 43 years old with a perfect 50-0 record, Mayweather shouldn’t have much competition against 25-year old Logan Paul whose only fight was in 2019  against British YouTube star/rapper KSI.

Davis $190 Mill To Stay With Lakers, Knight Commission Suggests Removing FBS, “Greeny” Replaces Le Batard’s Show

BASKETBALL

Not long after LeBron signed his massive deal with the LA Lakers, teammate Anthony Davis agreed to a five-year $190 million contract.

FOOTBALL

The Knight Commission, a group of college athletic leaders, spent the year studying how to best repair the NCAA’s “broken governance model”. Their suggestion is to remove the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) from the rest of the NCAA and allow it to govern itself. The FBS produces more money than the rest of college sports and has the College Football Playoff which on its own generates more than $600 million yearly.

OTHER

There is a new shakeup at ESPN with the announcement that longtime radio host Dan Le Batard will leave the network on January 4th. Mike Greenberg’s show “Greeny” will replace The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz at 10:00 am-noon ET.

LeBron Signs $85 Mill Extension, Wall For Westbrook Trade, Steelers Undefeated

BASKETBALL

LeBron James signed a two-year extension with the Lakers for $85 million. LeBron will be starting his 18th season, but he’ll have to continue playing past 20 seasons if he still plans on fulfilling his dream to play in the NBA with his son Bronny (who will graduate from high school in two years).

The Washington Wizards traded John Wall (who has been with the franchise for 10 years) to the Houston Rockets for Russell Westbrook and a first-round pick.

FOOTBALL

The Pittsburgh Steelers continued their undefeated season with a win over the Baltimore Ravens in a highly unusual Wednesday afternoon game. After more than 20 positive COVID-19 tests leading to three postponements of the matchup, the Steelers won 19-14.

Ravens-Steelers Game Played On Wednesday

FOOTBALL

The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers will play their postponed game today at 3:40 p.m. ET. This game was originally scheduled for Thanksgiving, then rescheduled to this past Sunday, then Tuesday, and now will finally be played this afternoon. The last time an NFL game was moved to a Wednesday was in 2012 (Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants) to avoid a conflict with President Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention. Before that, the last time a game was played on a Wednesday was in 1948.
