BASKETBALL

Giannis Antetokounmpo won his second consecutive Most Valuable Player award. The Milwaukee Bucks forward (who also won Defensive Player of the Year this season) joins LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Michael Jordan, Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Moses Malone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, and Bill Russell as back-to-back MVPs.

BASEBALL

The New York Yankees had quite a night in their 10-7 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. For the first time in the history of the franchise, the Yankees hit five home runs in an inning.

FOOTBALL

In the “Battle of Ohio” teams on Thursday Night Football, the Cleveland Browns beat the Cincinnati Bengals 35-30. Browns’ QB Baker Mayfield threw for 2 touchdowns while Bengals’ rookie QB Joe Burrow threw for 3 TD’s and set a record for completions in a game by a rookie. He also became the first rookie quarterback to throw over 60 passes (he had 61) in a game with no interceptions.

HOCKEY

The Stanley Cup Finals begin on Saturday with the Tampa Bay Lightning facing the Dallas Stars.
