Drew Brees Breaks Record For Career TD Passes, Warriors Franchise of Decade

FOOTBALL

In a 34-7 rout of the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke the NFL record for career touchdown passes. Brees threw his 540th TD, passing former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (who had 539 in his career). Brees may not hold the record for long, however, as New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady currently has 538 passing TD’s, and with two weeks left in the season, could surpass him.

The Sports Business Journal named the Golden State Warriors the “Franchise of the Decade”. Kleiner Perkins’ partner Joe Lacob and a group of investors paid $450 million (a record at the time) to buy the Warriors in 2010, and with three titles since then, the team is now worth an estimated $3.5 billion.
