Controversial Call, Nationals Survive Game 6, NCAA Allows Athletes To Profit

BASEBALL

The Washington Nationals survived another day and will face the Houston Astros in a decisive World Series game 7. After a wild 7th inning in Game 6, with a controversial interference call at first base (and Nationals’ manager Dave Martinez ejection), Washington rallied to a 7-2 victory. Game 7 is on Wednesday night.

NCAA

After a ruling in California made it easier for student athletes to profit off of their name, the NCAA jumped on board and released a statement saying they voted “unanimously to permit students participating in athletics the opportunity to benefit from the use of their name, image and likeness in a manner consistent with the collegiate model.”
