Correa Saves Day, Nationals 2-0, 49ers 5-0, Darnold Back & Jets Win, Miami Zoo More Than Dolphin Tckt

BASEBALL

The Houston Astros’ Carlos Correa saved the team from falling 0-2 to the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series with his walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning. After a 3-2 victory, the Astros will head to New York for Game 3 on Tuesday.

The Washington Nationals hold a steady 2-0 lead over the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Championship Series thanks in no small part to pitcher Max Scherzer’s dominant performance striking out 11 hitters in a Game 2 victory. The Cardinals now head to Washington for Game 3 on Monday night.

FOOTBALL

The San Francisco 49ers are taking the League by storm this season thanks in part to their dominant defense. With a big win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the Niners are now 5-0. San Francisco 20, Los Angeles 7

While the Niners recorded their 5th victory, the New York Jets (with quarterback Sam Darnold back after suffering a bout of mononucleosis) finally tasted their first win of the season by beating the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys have now lost three straight games. New York 24, Dallas 22

In an embarrassing stat, Fox Sports 640 posted ticket prices for entertainment options in the Miami area and found that a trip to the Miami Zoo ($23) cost $7 more than a ticket to see the Dolphins play the Washington Redskins on Sunday.  The Redskins grabbed a 17-16 win in the matchup between these two formerly winless teams.
