OTHER

Sports Illustrated’s management laid off 35-40% of the editorial staff.  Authentic Brands Group purchased Sports Illustrated for $110 million in May and leased its media operations to Seattle start-up Maven. Maven is expected to recruit freelancers and bloggers to replace salaried SI writers. Staffers of the iconic magazine claim the job losses are worse than expected and morale is low.
