College Football Playoff Rankings, Redskins Feel Heat For Claiming Foster

The new college football playoff rankings are out, and not surprisingly, Michigan fell out of the top 4. Oklahoma grabbed the 5th spot while Ohio State jumped from #10 to #6. Alabama remains at #1 with Clemson at #2, Notre Dame at #3 and Georgia now at #4. Saturdays’ championship games will decide which teams the College Football Playoff Committee will place in the top four and compete for the Championship. So what should we look out for on Saturday?  #1 Alabama plays #4 Georgia. This is a big game as Alabama has won every other game this season by at least 20 points and appears unstoppable. Saturday 4pm ET. Then at 8:00 pm, Ohio State will play #21 Northwestern. If the Buckeyes can not just win, but make a big statement win, they might have a chance of leaping to the final four. The only problem for Ohio State is Northwestern has won 5 of 7 games as underdogs this season.

The Washington Redskins are feeling the heat after claiming former SF 49er Reuben Foster off waivers. Foster was arrested last weekend in Tampa for alleged domestic battery charges. The 49ers told the press they weren’t comfortable having Foster on the team, as this wasn’t the first time he’s had issues. In the off-season, Foster was suspended for personal conduct and substance abuse issues, and according to coach Kyle Shanahan, “…to put yourself in the situation that he put himself in, whether it happened or not, if it happened, it’s so easy, but if it didn’t, that still was too bad of a decision to make us comfortable with keeping that person in our organization.” The Redskins, on the other hand, had a very different statement for bringing him on the team. They said, “The Redskins fully understand the severity of the recent allegations made against Reuben.” And, went on to say, “Nothing is promised to Reuben, but we are hopeful being around so many of his former teammates and friends will eventually provide him with the best possible environment to succeed both personally and professionally.”
