Cavs Part With Smith After Tanking Comment, NFL Lineup For Turkey Day

33-year-old shooting guard JR Smith and the Cleveland Cavaliers have decided to part ways. Smith is not having a great season with the Cavs and has had disagreements with the front office, but after he told the Athletic he believes the team is purposely tanking their season, he sealed his fate. He said, “I don’t think the goal is to win. The goal isn’t to go out there and try to get as many wins as you can. I think the goal is to develop and lose to get lottery picks. I think that was always the plan.”
