Paul Allen Remembered, Crosby Redeems Himself In Packers Win, Dodgers Fans Lack Energy

Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft passed away at age 65 due to complications from non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Allen made his fortune taking Microsoft public then purchased ownership in the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and the NBA’s PortTrailblazers. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said, “Paul Allen was the ultimate trailblazer — in business, philanthropy and in sports. As one of the longest-tenured owners in the NBA, Paul brought a sense of discovery and vision to every league matter, large and small.” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “His passion for the game, combined with his quiet determination, led to a model organization on and off the field. Our league is better for having Paul Allen be a part of it.”

FOOTBALL

Green Bay Kicker Mason Crosby redeemed himself with a 27-yard field goal with time expiring to give the Green Bay Packers the win on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers. Veteran Crosby missed 5 of 5 kicks last week, but came back strong and made all 5 attempts this week with a crowd wildly supporting him on each kick.

BASEBALL

The Milwaukee Brewers took a 2-1 lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. According to Dodgers’ outfielder Enrique Hernandez, their offense struggled, but the fans were to blame as well. He accused the fans of “lacking energy” and said, “Overall, it was a pretty bad game for everybody who calls themselves Dodgers.”
