Carmelo Anthony On The Move, NFL Puts National Anthem Policy On Hold

BASKETBALL

Carmelo Anthony is reportedly on the move in a complicated trade.  The Oklahoma City Thunder will trade Anthony and a top 14 protected first round pick in 2022 to the Atlanta Hawks for Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala. Muscala will then go to the Philadelphia 76ers for Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot with Philly sending Justin Anderson to Atlanta. It’s not over yet, because the Hawks will then waive Anthony, and he’ll be a free agent where he’ll get his entire $27.9  million buyout. The Houston Rockets and Miami Heat appear to be front-runners for signing Anthony.

FOOTBALL

The NFL has put their National Anthem Policy on hold explaining”no new rules relating to the anthem will be issued or enforced for the next several weeks.” All NFL teams are required to file paperwork with the NFL before training camp explaining how they plan to discipline players during the season. The Miami Dolphins were the first team to submit their paperwork and suggested a potential 4 game suspension for kneeling during the Anthem. The NFL then decided to put the policy on hold (before the other 31 teams weighed in), as they knew they would be faced with a PR nightmare.
