Richardson Selling Panthers, Diddy Wants Team, Steelers Crazy Finish

FOOTBALL

Eighty-one year old Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is planning on selling the franchise after the season. Richardson has been accused of workplace misconduct and is currently under investigation by the NFL. Sports Illustrated released an article detailing Richardson’s inappropriate behavior and comments and uncovered financial settlements reportedly covering up such behavior. There will likely be many interested buyers in the Panther’s franchise including Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs who recently tweeted, “There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history.” Then in an instagram video, he posted,  “I need to send a message out to everybody in the beautiful state of North Carolina: I will be the best NFL owner that you can imagine. I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year’s starting quarterback.” Diddy would need partners to be able to afford the Panthers, but doesn’t look like he’ll have trouble putting together a group. Even the Warriors Steph Curry took to social media to say he “wanted in”.

With playoff hopes on the line, Sunday’s games provided endless excitement. One of the most exciting games (and frustrating if you’re a Steelers fan) was when Pittsburgh tight end Jesse James dove into the end zone and looked like he scored the game winning touchdown against the New England Patriots. The play was ruled dead and not a touchdown as James “did not control the ball throughout the process”. Two plays later, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was picked off after a fake spike to seal the game. The Patriots grabbed an thrilling 27-24 win.
