KD Stands Out In Rout of Cavs, Rihanna Shout Outs

BASKETBALL

By all accounts, Kevin Durant was the key to the Golden State Warriors rout of the Cleveland Cavaliers in Thursday night’s game 1 of the NBA Finals. KD has been known to try and dominate a game, but with the Warriors he’s had to learn to move the ball around, and he showed he can do it. In addition to his 38 points, he also recorded 8 assists and 8 rebounds. When LeBron was asked about the game and who or what stood out, he immediately replied “K.D.” Then continued, “No ifs and buts. It is what it is. We (have) got to figure out how to combat that, which is going to be a tough challenge for us.” Watch Game 2 Sunday at 8:00 pm ET. Golden State 113, Cleveland 91.

Grammy award winner Rihanna also stood out during game 1. Social media went crazy late in the 4th quarter when KD shot a three-pointer and KD looked like he was “staring down” Rihanna. When asked about his intent during his post-game press conference, KD laughed and said he wasn’t going to “fall into that trap”. Rihanna got another shout-out when during the game, ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy excitedly mentioned Rihanna walking in front of him instead of calling a LeBron dunk.

NBA Finals Tonight, LeBron Racist Incident, Penguins Up 2-0, Nike’s Ridiculous Lawsuit

BASKETBALL

The NBA Finals start tonight and, not surprisingly, the Golden State Warriors face the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 3rd straight year. Golden State won two years ago and Cleveland claimed last year’s title. Shockingly, LeBron James will be playing in his 7th straight NBA Finals (4 with the Miami Heat (winning 2) then 3 with the Cavs (winning 1). For the complete best of 7 NBA Finals schedule, click here.

While LeBron is busy preparing for one of the biggest games of his life, he had to respond to a racist incident. According to the these details by lawyers and the police department, someone spray painted the N-word on LeBron James’ home in Brentwood, Los Angeles Wednesday morning. LeBron wasn’t there at the time as he’s in SF preparing for the Finals, but police are looking into video footage to see if they can catch the perpetrators of this hideous crime. In an interview during media day, LeBron told the media, “No matter how much money you have, how famous you are, how much people admire you, being black in America is tough.”

The Pittsburgh Penguins scored three goals in three minutes in the third period to take a 2-0 lead over the Nashville Predators in the second game of the best of seven Stanley Cup Finals. Penguins 4, Predators 1.

Nike’s tag line, “Just do it” is iconic and has inspired many athletes and non-athletes alike. But in a ridiculous turn of events, a Russian hypnotherapist, Marina Rybnikova, is suing the company for an ad inspiring women to be all that they can be. She reportedly believes“Women need to be beautiful, not made of ‘bruises and punches.” This woman is seeking $9300 for causing “moral harm”. OY!!!
