Deflategate Over, Stenson Wins Open

The Deflategate saga appears to finally be over. Tom Brady wrote on Facebook he’s not going to appeal to the NFL and will serve his 4 game suspension. He will miss the Arizona Cardinals game as well as Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills.

I’m very grateful for the overwhelming support I’ve received from Mr. Kraft, the Kraft family, coach Belichick, my coaches and teammates, the NFLPA, my agents, my loving family and most of all, our fans. It has been a challenging 18 months and I have made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the legal process. I’m going to work hard to be the best player I can be for the New England Patriots and I look forward to having the opportunity to return to the field this fall.

In a memorable day of gold, Henrik Stenson beat out Phil Mickelson at Troon. Stenson shot a final round of 63, tied for the best final round ever. At 40 years old, this is Stenson’s first major win.
