76ers 1st Pick In NBA Draft, Cavs Demolish Raptors, Bad News For Crimson Tide, Madden Helps Petty

NBA

76ersThe Philadelphia 76ers secured the first pick in the NBA lottery. After three losing seasons, the 76ers have been mocked for deliberately tanking their seasons in order to get top prospects in the draft. Regardless of what you believe they did the past few years, the Sixers now have a chance to truly rebuild. The top prospects in this years’ draft are Duke’s Brandon Ingram or LSU’s Ben Simmons. The Los Angeles Lakers will pick 2nd and the Boston Celitcs pick 3rd. The NBA draft will take place on June 23rd in NYC.

In the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers demolished the Toronto Raptors by 31 points. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving put on a show with 27 and 24 points respectively. According to ESPN’s Power Index, the Cavs have a 78% chance to win the series.  Cavs 115, Raptors 84.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

In some very bad news for Alabama fans, all SEC left tackle and the anchor for the team, Cam Robinson, with fellow teammate Hootie Jones, were arrested for drug charges and possession of a stolen firearm. More details to come but if Robinson is arrested, the Crimson Tide will be in a tough position to repeat as Champions next season.

The twitter world is a buzz commenting on NY Jets QB Bryce Petty (who is competing for the #1 spot this season) noticing how the video game, Madden, has improved his game. As Petty stated,  “Just watching film, I’m seeing things. I played Madden the other day, and it’s not just picking run plays anymore. It’s like, ‘Oh, they’ve got an under front (on defense).’ You start picking up things differently. That’s exciting for me.” While maybe it’s true on some level, it’s probably not the best thing to say if you want to be taken seriously.
