Spieth On Leaderboard After 1st Day Of Masters, Warriors Snag #1 Seed With Win Over Spurs

GOLF

Jordan SpiethThursday marked the beginning of the Masters, one of four major golf tournaments throughout the year and widely regarded as the most prestigious (maybe it’s because the winner gets a cool green jacket and there are many hallowed traditions at Augusta). To no one’s surprise, last year’s winner,  22 year old Jordan Spieth lead the board after the first day but the tournament continues throughout the weekend so it could be anyone’s tournament by Sunday.

The Golden State Warriors kept their dream of 73 wins alive by beating the San Antonio Spurs Thursday evening. With their 70th win, the Warriors also secured the #1 seed in the Western Conference. Golden State has 3 games left and must win all 3 to surpass the record 0f 72 wins set by the 1995/6 Chicago Bulls. Warriors 112, Spurs 101.
