Redskins’ Trademark Registration Cancelled By Judge, DeAndre Jordan Staying With Clippers

FOOTBALL

Washington RedskinsA federal judge ordered the cancellation of the Washington Redskins trademark registrations. The Redskins trademark name and logo has been deemed offensive by Native Americans but Team president Bruce Allen said he would appeal the ruling.  Allen stated, “We are convinced that we will win on appeal as the facts and the law are on the side of our franchise that has proudly used the name Washington Redskins for more than 80 years”. This is not the last we’ll see of this story.

BASKETBALL

In the craziest story so far out of free agency, DeAndre Jordan is now NOT signing with the Dallas Mavericks. He committed to play with the Mavs last Friday by agreeing to a 4 year $80 million dollar deal. According to reports, he immediately started regretting leaving the Los Angeles Clippers (a team he’s been with for 7 years) and asked to speak to coach Doc Rivers. Rivers then congregated a group of influential Clippers’ players (and even owner Steve Ballmer) to go to Jordan’s house to convince him to stay with the Team. After a few hours, it was announced that Jordan signed a 4 year $88 million dollar deal….so, he got another $8 mill and stayed with his Team. Not bad.
