Watch Betsy on the Today Show

It’s official. Tom Brady is out for the season with a torn ACL. No Favre in Green Bay, Jets as potential AFC favorites, Monday Night Football at 10:15 pm, and Britney Spears winning 3 statuettes at the MTV music awards, what is happening in this first week of the NFL?

Green Bay vs Minnesota Vikings

Aaron Rodgers (or as the entire world now knows him, Brett Favre’s replacement) stepped out amidst the pressure of Monday Night Football and performed like an old pro. With 18 of 22 completions, a passing TD and a rushing TD, capped off by the signature Lambeau Leap, Rodgers showed he’s ready for the challenges of the League. (Packers 24, Vikings 19)

Oakland Raiders vs Denver Broncos

The Broncos demolished the Raiders in the late game on Monday Night Football (41-14), although I wouldn’t know. A 10:15 pm (ET) start time is way too late for me to watch a game. Please, please tell me this is not going to become a regular thing. What I did hear though is that a star was born in Denver’s rookie Wide Receiver Eddie Royal who had 9 catches for 146 yards and a TD.
